Kyla Justice has it all. A successful business, a wonderful man, and a good life. So why does she feel so restless and unfulfilled? When a opportunity she is sure comes from God comes her way, she jumps at it. Determined to finish the project despite the many obstacles.

Wounded in battle, ex Marine Rafael Murphy now runs a coffee shop. He has had feelings for Kyla since he was a teenager but never thought he would have a chance with her. When he hears she has accepted the job of renovating a church in a neighborhood located in gang territory, his fear for her makes him overreact.

Kyla and Rafael grow closer together as the situation grows more perilous. Nothing will stop them, gang violence, delays, missing supplies. Kyla is convinced she is answering a calling straight from God. Will her faith protect them?

This book has a very well thought out plot. I liked the romance between Rafael and Kyla, a character who is so emotionally protected I wondered if she would ever come around. The many references to faith were carefully crafted and woven into the story well. My only complaints were that I thought the story was a little too slow moving. The many plot jumps in the start of the story were a bit confusing. But I enjoyed this book.
