Terry Fleming is a year-round resident of Poderoso Pines. He is also the town's police chief, thereby fulfilling a life-long dream. When an L.A. businesswoman is found dead in their small town, it is Terry who seeks to discover why.

Milo Till is an important Californian, both financially and politically. He has been coming to the "men only" retreat in Poderoso Pines for the past fifteen years.

Ginger Pass' unexplained death is a puzzle, but Terry seeks answers at the Palatine Club, where he encounters Milo Till. It appears Ginger was a prostitute, and she had agreed to entertain Milo…for five hundred dollars. Milo claims they went for a ride in his car, where a money dispute turned ugly. At that point, Ginger insisted on getting out of the car. Milo was apparently the last one to see her alive. Ginger Pass was not without friends, however. The six of them—Polly, a widow; Justin, the county administrator; Charlotte, a lawyer; Katherine, a health club owner; and Dinah, a dermatologist; and Ginger—had been meeting every Monday for over a year. The remaining friends are shocked by Ginger's death, and even more stunned by her prostitution. Ginger was a bored housewife, but how could her life have taken such a bizarre twist?

What Goes Around is a riveting suspense story featuring five fearless women seeking to uncover the truth. They are up against powerful men, who are just as determined to keep their activities secret. The plot moves at a good pace, and the dialogue carries on without a pause. Susan Diamond has woven a wonderful story that is brilliantly done. Once it grasps the interest of the reader, it never lets go. I liked the personalities of these women, along with their strength and close friendship, which made them impossible to forget. This engaging read is absolutely fantastic!
