Ali Whitmore breaks up with her boyfriend and decides to lose weight, get a pixie hair cut, and go shopping. No matter how much she tries to get over Trey, she is still in love with him.
Trey Monahan may do well being an architect and building designs but relationships are a bit of a problem. As soon as he hears the word marriage, he quickly dissolves his relationship with Ali.
Ali wonders why Trey has to be so pigheaded, demanding and stubborn. She did remember the passionate, tender, loving moments they had shared. And now their three-year-relationship had gone sour. The minute she brought up marriage, Trey was out the door. She decides to change her image which surprises her friend, Beth. Trey blames himself for the breakup. He was just not ready to hear the word marriage. He is thankful to Beth for keeping him abreast of Ali’s events. He still misses her and wants her back. When Beth devises a plan to get him back with Ali, at a masquerade party, he agrees, then wonders will it get Beth back in his arms or will she kick him to the curb?
Unmask Me is a really blazing hot read. Ali has her own style, and is not one to easily give up. I could tell that she and Trey were meant to be together but both fight with their egos and must get past them. A mix-up in communication, and a wise friend who can see through the whole mess, made this a very good read. Kat Bishop tells a story that keeps moving at a great pace. I like her style of writing. She has a way of capturing the essence of all her players to keep the reader wrapped up in the story.
