UNDER THE MOONLIGHT
Rating: 4 Cups
Morgan Carbone was a dedicated detective until one night when Fate stepped in and changed everything. Now she changes with the moon, and at will when she wants to, too. But she soon finds out that she is more than just a creature believed to be a myth, when she is captured by Mario. Now, she is nothing more than a pawn in his game.
Elizabeth Bathory has been known for centuries as the "Blood Countess". People have believed that she was locked in her room for four years before she finally died. She did not die, however. She is a vampire and she is looking for a new companion.
Morgan has been sent by Mario to murder Elizabeth for the death of his twin sister. Only, Morgan is surprised to find that Catalina, Mario's sister, has been Elizabeth's lover the whole time. Once she and Elizabeth become lovers, Morgan knows she must free herself from Mario and keep Elizabeth alive. But at what cost to herself? Will she be free of one controller just to give herself over to another?
Though this is not the typical romance I would normally read, it was by far one of the more unique books I have reviewed. The characters of Morgan and Elizabeth are well defined and are not lacking in spirit. Ms. Rose has used the character of Elizabeth Bathory very well. She chose her vampire from the very pages of history which makes it a much more interesting read. I was not interested in the love scenes, though they are well written and truly descriptive. If you like lesbian romance with a twist of the paranormal, this is the book for you.
Warning: Strong, detailed female/female love scenes.
