Allie Daniels seems to have bad luck everywhere she turns until she receives a registered letter from a lawyer. It seems she has inherited Uncle Jefferson’s estate. Funny thing, she never knew she had an Uncle Jefferson.

Luke Morgan knows Twisted Creek as home. Jefferson Platt was his grandfather’s good friend and when he dies, Luke believes something amiss in his death. He sets out to find the real truth and of the new tenants in Jefferson’s home.

At twenty-six Allie wonders will she, and her grandmother, whom she calls Nana, ever find happiness. After receiving a letter about inheriting an estate, they wonder if it is a joke. She and Nana pack up their few items and head to Texas, to find not only a house, but a mysterious intruder with a way of softening Allie’s heart. Allie and Nana settle into a home they hope is not a hoax, as Luke visits often, lending any help needed. When the townspeople hear about Allie and Nana, it appears guests begin arriving to visit, making themselves part of a family, enjoying food, and friendship. Luke believes Allie a rare mix as he offers her friendship, even though he believes by Jefferson’s death; she could be the one that would really benefit. She loves his slow, easy walk, and the time they spend together. Allie wonders will others soon learn the truth behind their inheritance and drive them away. When trouble comes knocking, can they look to Luke for help?

Twisted Creek has all the elements that make this an excellent read spinning with romance and intrigue. I love Allie and Luke. They are two likable players that are completely opposite yet their chemistry makes them a pair that needs to be together. I immediately fell in love with them from the beginning. This splendid poignant tale captures true emotions and really does uplift the reader. I love the way Allie cares deeply for her grandmother, and Luke for Jefferson. Jodi Thomas instills pure drama into this terrific read. Great passion, mystery, and a twist and turns of events that make this one suspenseful read that amazed this reader.
