Shannon McFelan is fed up with her brother, Rory, constantly telling her to find a mate and have pups. When she is ready, she will be the one to choose her mate. With the blue moon fast approaching, she is growing very ripe for the taking.
Nikolai Taranosky is a vampire. He knew the minute he spotted Shannon that she was his chosen. Even though she belongs to the Sparrowhawks, he wants her. For now, her safety and protection is the top on his agenda.
Shannon is strong and stubborn, able to defeat the strong mates. When Rory demands a gathering, she is certain he is up to something. Shannon hates domination and will have to stay two steps ahead of the wolves if she does not wish to be claimed. During the hunt, she is hurt and discovered by Nikolai, who takes her to a shape-shifter doctor. Once her scent hits him, Nikolai knows she is his chosen. Shannon feels welcome with the Raven pack and being near Nikolai heightens the desire. After learning of his species, she is afraid the pack will not approve, but she and Nikolai are linked together. Can a shifter and a vamp find companionship together, or will Rory tear them apart?
True Mates: Nikolai’s Wolf is a fast-moving read. The chase is so intense this reader could practically visualize the wolves as they scurry about in their hunts. I love the part with Shannon where she talks about getting off the pill and wearing the sign. Lively and upbeat characters, with a ton of action, make this tale fascinating. The passion that spills between Shannon and Nikolai is well written and had this reader rooting for them. Zena Wynn creates a powerful read, with a robust couple, and secondary characters that make this a colossal read.
