Logan Burke knows it spells danger when a woman enters a cantina, which usually erupts in fighting and bloodshed. He sees a fight brewing after Dara enters, seeking to hire him to take her to the lost Inca city. The treacherous mountains are no place for any woman, but Dara refuses to take no for an answer.

Dara Adams is a princess, in need of helping her people. As an archeologist, she is studying the lost Inca city. She believes it is her responsibility to go and find an ancient artifact for her people. It has been said that Logan is the best tracker, but she was expecting an old miner, not a handsome man who sends heat straight to her heart.

Reluctantly, Logan promises to take Dara to a nearby village but not to any lost Inca city. It is too dangerous a trek into the mountains for any woman, but she assures him she is not any woman. He has to make a freight run over the mountains and will only escort her as far as the next village, but someone is in hot pursuit. It is imperative for Dara to find the gold she is seeking, even if she must share the truth with Logan. Of course, neither expected a sniper to be on their trail nor to unlock a secret that might change Dara’s life, as the two find sizzling passion never before imagined.

This rich, compelling read is a treasure. I do not think I will ever forget the powerful, and believable, characters of Logan and Dara. The adrenaline rush alone is enough to keep the audience on the edge of their seats. Gail Barrett captivates with To Protect A Princess. I fell in love with the whole characterization of Logan. The way Ms. Barrett sketches Logan, I could visualize this strong man riding atop his horse and his whole persona. I simply fell in love with him. I want him. Seriously, I want Logan to come to my house and take me away. This stirring tale moved me and never once did I come upon a dull moment. Extraordinary, with some twists and turns, this heart-stopping read is like a roller coaster ride choked full of entertaining thrills that I highly recommend.
