Sarah Harrison has been stuck in a very unhappy marriage for decades. When her husband retires and buys a motor home, she thinks it might help them to get away. Unfortunately their relationship does not change, but a twist of fate leaves her amazed that happiness for her is a possibility.
Max McCloud is a grieving widower. He lost the love of his life only one year ago. He sadly observes the couple in the motor home parked next to his, and wonders how such a lovely vibrant woman can stay with such a cruel man.
When the unexpected happens, Max cannot help but come to Sarah’s rescue. They feel an undeniable pull to one another, but try to dismiss their feelings. Sarah feels that she is not good enough for Max, and Max must work through the thought that he is betraying his deceased wife.
Ms. Grindstaff has written a charming, down-to-earth love story. It is quite unique and refreshing to read a love story centered on a middle-aged couple. There are lessons to be learned from this novel; that true love can find you at any age, and to never give up on happiness.
