Willow Brautous is a recluse at best and she keeps her past a secret. Notes sent to her are still scary and she wonders if they will ever stop. She gets help sent that she believes is unnecessary. Now she must try to get her research done on her own and she is unhappy about that.
Gabriel Livesay has had his own share of nightmares. He was pleased when his friend Butch offered him a job as bodyguard for the reclusive author Emanon. He is not sure what to think and finds her rather selfish. Yet he has accepted this job and will do it to the best of his ability.
Living in her small world worked well for Willow until her assistant Jeremy died in a car bomb. Now she has to face the real world for the first time in years. Her new bodyguard is harsh but something there is between them. She does not want to pursue anything. Gabriel is shocked to find out what is really going on and wants to make sure Willow will be safe. Can they keep on the move and stay out of each other’s arms?
Confusing at times is how I would describe this book. The flashbacks given made no sense to me until the end. Plus, I had no clue that they were even flashbacks. The characters were well done, yet something seemed to lack throughout the entire book. Willow and Gabriel are an interesting couple. I had hoped things would not move as quickly as between them. It only seemed to complicate things. A few errors in the book also upset me. It is suspenseful and worth the read if you are able to get past them. This was just an okay read for me.
Caution: This story contains rough sex as well as use of toys.
