Brock Hart is a stockbroker. He is also gay, and a playboy who plays the field with abandon.
Daniel Wolf is a vampire and has been so for nearly 500 years. He is only looking for a meal and sets his sights on the handsome playboy when he sees him in a gay club.
When Brock sees Daniel for the first time, he is nearly struck dumb by Daniel’s physical beauty. Breaking his own rules, he takes the vampire home with him. It is obvious to both almost immediately that they have a connection, and yet neither even thinks about it being exclusive, at least not at first. It is not long though before Brock becomes frightened by Daniel’s need to always bleed him during sex, and the blackouts and weakness he experiences afterwards are scary too. Not sure why Daniel is doing this behavior, he is still willing to give it a shot, especially since his heart is now engaged. But how will Brock feel once he realizes Daniel is a real vampire?
The Vampire and the Man-Eater is not your typical vampire romance, and I mean that in the most complimentary way! I started out thinking I was not going to like this book much, but not for long. Ms. Hauser’s vampire world is unlike the usual ones. While she did add a few of the stereotypical traits, she added in a twist that made me want to stand up and cheer. I adored seeing Brock the playboy fall hard for Daniel. I also really liked how Daniel was able to realize that someone could love and accept him in spite of the fact that he was a vampire. The sex scenes are enough to scorch anyone’s sheets. I cannot recommend this book enough to one and all!
