Samantha Hogan started out as the mascot for her brother’s football team. Now the team is still together, still the best of friends and Sam is still in the middle of them. Now though she has a shop called Seven Dwarfs and the guys are her financial back up.
Maxwell Anderson, Max to his friends, has decided it’s time the team stopped pampering Sam. Until, that is, he gets a frightened call and realizes someone really is entering the shop after hours. Max’s interest in Seven Dwarfs and in Sam starts to increase quickly.
Sam and Max have known each other since they where children. She knows Max will not stay around long before he moves on to someone new and is afraid of losing his friendship. As their relationship builds, Sam holds part of herself back. Can Max break through her defenses and keep her safe from the unknown intruder at Seven Dwarfs?
This is a sweet romance, which had me smiling through most of the book. Sam is a shy quiet girl with a loud and excitable friend. She has grown up with Max and needs to learn to trust him. Max is male in every sense of the word. Not only does he have the looks and build, he also has the personality. His reputation and attitude complete the package and, oh boy, does he know how to use it. Ms. Clarke has written an exciting girl-next-door story that will keep you turning pages well in to the night.
