Deborah Sanborn has lived her entire life in the Appalachian Mountains and most everyone knows she has been born with ‘the sight.’ She immediately calls the town’s sheriff when she foresees a plane crash. After meeting Mike, she feels he will be the man she will soon fall in love with.

Mike O’Ryan, a veteran of the Gulf War, takes part in the search for the downed plane. He thinks that Deborah is crazy at first for seeing the crash and not helping. He at first does not understand her role in the crash nor if he should really believe in her vision, but there is something about her that draws him to her.

Molly Cifelli is flying home for the Christmas break. She has a brand new master’s degree in child psychology and after the first of the year will have a new job with child welfare. Senator Patrick Finn has to book another flight that just happens to have Darren Wilson on board, someone that he would rather not be in close proximity to. Patrick grows upset when Darren insists he vote on a certain bill. Patrick feels if word gets out that he voted for the tobacco industry his career will be over. Darren threatens Patrick, and Molly overhears, but pretends she heard nothing. After she sees Darren take matters into his own hands, she feels an icy chill, more so than when the plane crashes. She has to find a way to get her and Johnny to safety. It is only a matter of time before the killer reappears to the scene of the crash. Johnny O’Ryan was told never to talk to strangers. When the plane crashes and his grandparents die, Molly is his only hope. After the accident it does not matter how much pain Darren is in, he has to find a way to get his bag of money off the plane and get rid of any survivors. It is a race against time as Mike, the sheriff and others search for the wreckage. Mike finds a bonding with Deborah he never imagined. While the snow continues to fall, Molly and Johnny try to find a way of escape, as the killer continues to stalk. She can only hope the rescue enforcements will find them before it is too late.

Murder, mayhem, betrayal, and even love stirs within the Kentucky mountains after a plane crash leaves Molly and Johnny on the run for their lives. Families coming together to find any surviving relatives makes a fascinating edge-on-the seat read. Mike and Deborah are such refreshing characters that they give the storyline even more realism. I was totally blown away by the whole theme, the in-depth plot and the colorful personalities that make this book spellbinding. Dinah McCall creates non-stop action and suspense that keeps the adrenalin racing. She seasons a bit of mystery, intrigue and terror that intensifies and leaves a shiver down the spine in this very extraordinary read.
