THE SPELL OF THE KILLING MOON
The Wild Rose Press
Rating: 2 Cups
Elspeth is a Druid and a werewolf. She has been sent back in time to kill a traitor to their way of life. She cannot return to her own time until her task is complete.
Aiden is a Time Guardian sent to the same period to protect some holy relics. He is surprised to find his Soul Mate in the castle lord’s mistress. Elspeth is very mysterious.
Two time travelers meet and find that they are Soul Mates. There is only one problem, Elspeth has been sent to this time to kill Aiden. The werewolf Druid is torn between her mission and her feelings, but the lady of the castle also has plans of her own to eliminate her husband’s mistress.
This is a confusing and frustrating story that could have been so much more. Aiden and Elspeth are great characters with a lot of conflict and chemistry between them. The Lord of the castle obviously has feelings but no respect for his mistress, and the Lady of the castle wants her out of the way by any means imaginable. Both characters have been sent on conflicting missions. There is so much material there, but none of the story lines comes to any real conclusion. But for that, this would have gotten a much higher rating.
