Shaina McCullough is a peace control officer who just may have bitten off more than she can chew. She is irritated beyond belief with her former trainer and co-worker Brent Tyson who is an infuriatingly overprotective alpha male in his prime. Just when she thinks she has gotten away from him, and that he will finally leave her be to do her job, there he is trying to protect her again. Then there is the problem of her attraction to the handsome Ty that she is barely able to even admit to herself. After all, Ty is nothing more than her co-worker now, is he not?
Brent Tyson has been in love with Shaina since he laid eyes on her for the first time. But he knows she is afraid of him because he is half D’Lonian, and she has heard all the rumors about D’Lonian males and their strong alpha male sexuality. Also, she is his co-worker now, so he tries to stand back and let her do her job, tries that is.
When Shaina in a fit of pique at Ty volunteers for a dangerous off-planet mission to rescue the son of a diplomat from The Pleasure Palace where sexual slaves are bought and sold regularly, she really has no idea what she has gotten herself into. Fortunately for her Ty, unable to overcome his protective instincts, volunteers as well and they go undercover as Mistress and Love Slave. However, getting to the Chancellor’s son will not be as easy as they had hoped and there is danger lurking in every corner since everyone is under surveillance all the time. Living in such close quarters and doing their best to appear like a pair that is very sexually involved, including putting on a sexual show for the entire palace, both Shaina and Ty are forced to confront their true feelings for one another. With the possibility of their cover being blown at any moment, it is a race against time to find the Chancellor’s son, and get him and themselves off the planet before anyone discovers that he is gone. Will they survive The Pleasure Palace?
The Pleasure Palace is Evangeline Anderson at her very best. The world building is incredibly realistic and highly enjoyable to read. I loved how Shaina is both a tough cop and a soft woman. Ms. Anderson does a fantastic job of conveying Shaina’s strengths and weaknesses. Shaina is a character that any woman can relate to. Ty as the alpha male forced by circumstances into a subservient part that he is only too willing to play because he loves Shaina is one of my favorite male characters to date. The lovemaking is sizzling hot, and not to be missed as it has elements of tenderness that set it apart from many other erotic romance stories. So if you enjoy science fiction and paranormal romance with a kick, then you simply must visit The Pleasure Palace!
