Chloe Flynt needs to settle down and be reasonable. Her daddy refuses to give her any more money for her ridiculous ideas. At the age of twenty-seven, her parents can no longer afford her. She sells her engagement ring and relocates to Austin, Texas.
Matthew Tanner does not allow any woman to rule him, and certainly will not allow his new tenant, Chloe, to when she moves next door. He finds her crazy, and sexy. Deep inside she stirs a heated desire, but being hog-tied to a woman for life, no, never.
Chloe, once again breaking another engagement, decides to leave London and take her act to Austin and begin a job as, The Breakup Artist. She has had enough breakups in her life to be able to offer assistance to others who might not be ready to take the plunge. If she is lucky she just might find a burly cowboy to interest her. Then she meets the next door neighbor and landlord, Matthew, who appears to be having trouble breaking up with his girlfriend, Brittany. It seems no matter where she turns, they are always bumping into each other. As much as Matthew hates to admit it, he is beginning to take a liking to Chloe. He begins seeing her in a different light and the more time she is around, the more he believes he truly loves her, and wonders how he allowed it to happen.
The One I Want is a page-turner. The likeable characters sizzle and really keep the other on their toes. The chemistry between Chloe and hunky Matthew slowly builds and the fun begins when they first meet. Nancy Warren crafts robust characters that bring Austin to life. This pleasurable read pits a London gal against a Texas cowboy and the excitement is non-stop. I love the third party of Brittany and how Matthew tries to steer away from her, by incorporating Chloe’s help. The dialogue is superb and the writing excellent.
