Minuet James owns a paranormal service agency, but all her customers are being warned off by the powerful Drago Navigator. Framed for a triple murder, Minuet turns to her would-be lover and local gangster, Tomeso. Minuet is also forced to work with a sometimes hostile cop named Ferguson, but she knows only she has her best interest at heart.

Drago Navigator and his powerful family-owned company want revenge on the person who attacked them; a mysterious “X” type person, and thinks Tomeso, and especially Minuet, are key to the discovery. Tomeso wants to help Minuet, but even while he strives for respectability, he knows his crime family comes first. All the players are forced together in an exciting conclusion that introduces a surprise character who holds all the answers, but is even more of a mystery, with frightening information about Minuet.

While not a romance, The Infinite Instant is an interesting science fiction thriller written in a graphic style. The “X” factor aspect of the story is very intriguing and was my favorite part of the story. The characters’ development and interactions are well done. It is easy to follow the very complicated storyline, but there are a large number of supporting types to keep track of. The writing style seemed to change periodically, but not enough to distract me from the intense plot. There are only a few references to sex, but since this is not a romance, they worked excellently into the book. The Infinite Instant caught me up in a good way, and I am looking forward to reading more “who-done-its” from Ms Parker.
