Becca is desperate for money for her baby niece’s operation and has only one chance, the man who threw her out of his home on her wedding day. She promised herself she would never ask him for anything, but for Daisy she will sacrifice her pride.
Andreas has been in a car wreck and can not remember anything from the last year. He asks Becca to come to his side. He is attracted to her and just wishes that he could remember everything about their relationship.
When Becca writes to her estranged husband for money for her niece’s operation, she never expects to be summoned to his side. She is horrified to learn that he has amnesia after a car accident and frightened about what will happen when he recovers his memory.
Ms. Walker is one of my favorite Harlequin authors and her stories are usually full of drama. This one is no exception but I had a hard time sympathizing with Becca’s plight at first. She never questions why she is thrown away and runs back to Andreas at the moment he calls for her. I was a little disappointed at first, but she soon finds her backbone in spite of her love for Andreas. Andreas was hard to like, definitely sexy, but far too judgmental and dictatorial for my taste. I always enjoy it when characters like him are made aware of the truth, though I did not understand why the half sister was such a big secret. I loved the setting and the supporting characters are well done. The story is full of drama and tense situations and comes together at the end. It is an entertaining and fast moving story.
