Detective Paytah is a tough-as-nails Native American cop. He has spent his entire life fighting to overcome prejudice and gain acceptance in a world that notices ones skin color. When he gets Tyler Baker as his new partner, Paytah is definitely not happy with the situation. He is the type of cop who goes by the book and not one whose acts tend to break them like Tyler.
Tyler Baker is a blond haired, blue-eyed, gay detective who tends to overlook some of the rules. He was injured on his last assignment, and his partner died in his arms. Now Tyler is assigned to work with Detective Paytah. When Tyler gets a load of his new partner, Mr. Lust rears his ugly head.
After a bust goes horribly wrong in California, Tyler is sent to Philadelphia in disgrace. His new partner, Paytah, is not thrilled to be working with him. The first case they catch involves the suspicious suicide deaths of four males. However, Tyler and Paytah are totally unaware of the fact that the deaths are connected to Tyler. It seems the situation in California that got Tyler’s partner murdered has followed him to his new life. Feelings for each other slowly begin to emerge as these two men work together. Paytah soon finds himself looking at Tyler not only as partner, but also sexually. However, even though they finally come together, feelings are hurt and Tyler makes some life altering decisions. Then their case is blown out of the water and when the dust has settled, shocking revelations are made.
Ms. Massa’s story is exciting and suspenseful. It is also very poignant. The opening scene will bring a catch to your throat. Ms. Massa does an excellent job of writing a love story involving two men and the sex scenes are boiling with sensuality. I found I could not put this story down. I was also shocked to find out who was orchestrating all the murders. This author has done a fantastic job writing about male on male action and I plan to read more of this genre from her.
