Commander Jorie Mikkalah is under lot of pressure to complete her assignment well for if she does, she could be promoted to Captain. She is also trying to put her life back together. She has no idea what she will be up against nor how much she will have to overcome in order to accomplish her goals. She is a very caring person and wants the best for her team. She knows she will have to work very diligently if she is to get her promotion.

Homicide Detective Theo Petrakos never bends the rules. He enjoys his job for the most part and enjoys spending his spare time with his Aunt and Uncle. He is just getting over his divorce and is not looking for a new relationship. Theo wants some time for himself but his world is about to have a major interruption that will keep him wondering what he really wants from life.

Traveling to Earth was not an easy decision for Jorie to make, but knowing it could further her career, she goes anyway to check on their agent, Danjay Wain since they have received no new data in the past two days. Jorie has to stop an infestation of intruders and that will not be an easy task. Theo is not sure what to believe when Jorie saves his life from one of the intruders, but he needs help and knows they must work together to prevent more people from being killed. The main problem that Theo sees is keeping everything secret. They need to figure out what is really going on and how to accomplish saving lives. But both know that they need more help and they are not sure how they will do so without the media banging on his door.

Ms. Sinclair sweeps you into a highly intelligent and technology filled world that leaves one in amazement. Both Jorie and Theo have been hurt in past relationships. That leads them to wonder if they will be able to not only trust each other, but work well together. Many rules will be broken. Will they be able to follow through with their task? A whole lot of lives are at stake and Ms. Sinclair really gets that across. I was impressed with how well she was able to create characters that are worthy of rooting for. I enjoyed this book immensely and hope others do as well.
