Constanza Smythe is traveling across the ocean to the colonies with her younger sister and brother to escape their past and start a new life. Stanza is looking forward to a new job, in a new place away from all her bad memories of home. This is just the chance she has been looking for.
Lucian Blackwell works as a Foreman on a plantation in North Carolina .He has one son and seemed pretty happy with his life, not really thinking anything was missing until the night he pulled Stanza out of the ocean and saved her life.
Lucian and Constanza were attracted to each other from the very start, and it is not all surprising when the two wed. But even though these two are looking for peace and happiness, trouble seems to be around every corner. With the captain of the ship Stanza sailed to the colonies on not taking no for an answer, and the plantation owner working with the ship captain in rum running, the trouble seems to follow Lucian and Stanza no matter where they go or what they do. Can these two get out of the danger they are in or will the sea Captain Edward Teache get exactly what he has been wanting?
The Bride of Blackbeard is for the most part a really nice story. The characters are all well written, and it does not take you long as a reader to figure out who are the good guys and who are the bad guys in this story. I really liked the character of Costanza; she is such an independent woman who knows what she wants and fights for it. The story line jumped around a bit too much for my liking, and made it a little hard to really get into the story, but once you do it is worth reading.
