THE WINNER'S CIRCLE
Rating: 3 Cups
Shawn Levin has been working hard to break into the bigger NASCAR races. When Lovely Cosmetic's female driver gets pregnant after a few races and quits, Shawn has her chance for the big time. Then she meets a driver who does not want her racing, but definitely wants her off the track.
Jimmy lost a girlfriend to racing and believes women should not be drivers. He cannot help but fall for Shawn, and will do anything to protect her, even if it costs him the Winner's Circle.
When two stubborn drivers get together, the track is going to be hot. Will the two be able to separate their on and off track lives, or will the pressures of racing be more than they can handle?
I am a big NASCAR fan and am glad I got the chance to review The Winner's Circle and, while not what I expected, it is a good book. Shawn is a strong woman, but her strongest feature is that she knows her limitations, a very admirable trait. Shawn and Jimmy have a great chemistry, and their dialogue makes them so empathetic I cared for them immediately. The sex is wonderful and the best way for readers to feel for the characters. It is both hot and loving. The villain is a little over the top and illogical, but she added a bit of drama to characters that got along almost too well. The background characters support the couple's personalities. Winner's Circle is an interesting part of Ms. Monet's NASCAR series.
