The Harrison family has just moved, again. They have been through quite a bit in the
last few years. Alex, a ten year old boy, has lost his mother to cancer, moved through
three different schools since his mother's death, and has gotten to know his father's new
fiancé. He is an awkward little kid who has his nose in books much of the time. This
new town has little Alex looking over his shoulder. On his first day of school, he comes
face to face with a homeless man who seems to know him from somewhere, and
breaks his arm. The homeless man is involved in a hit and run accident, and leaves
behind a key for Alex. Little does Alex know this key will change his life.
Andrew Harrison is Alex's father. He is a virologist for the government, and has terrible
hours. Andrew and his new fiancé, Jennifer, are doing their best to make a good life for
themselves and Alex. Andrew's job seems to take over his entire life, but here in
Oceanview, this comes to an ugly head. It seems like the Harrison's lives will never be
the same, and if the cove and nosey Sheriff Ferrell, have anything to do with it, their lives
will end.
Alex has someone on his side. Darrell Washington has a checkered past himself. He
is settled in the woods, and is content to stay there. Oceanview has never seen
anything like the Harrison’s and Washington. This book was a page-turner. The plot
twists, the shady characters, combined with a great supernatural story to back it all up,
this book has everything that I look for in a frightening tale of terror. It seems that there is
more to Oceanview than meets the eye. I certainly hope that there is a series in this
one, because I will be in line to get the next installment.
