Detective Nicholas Valenti has never been attracted to a man before, but in the last month something has changed; he has discovered he is in love with his partner. It is the 1980’s and homophobia is at an all time high. In spite of this Nicholas has no problems with gays and treats everyone equally.

Sean O’Brian is Nicholas’s partner, and best friend. Sean is unaware of Nicholas’s change of heart, and while he too feels everyone should be treated the same no matter their orientation he has seen firsthand what can happen. Sean’s gay brother waited until after he had married and had kids to come out of the closet, so Sean is a bit less tolerant.

When their chief asks them to go undercover at a gay resort to stop a killer, Sean jumps at the opportunity. However, Nicholas is not so sure. They will have to pose as a gay couple, and Nicholas fears his true feelings will be obvious and he might lose his best friend as a result. When their cover is blown and a deal must be made with a drug lord, Nicholas finds himself making a decision. The decision tears at his emotions, and becomes a ticking time bomb that if not diffused properly could destroy their relationship forever.

This was a fantastic book full of suspense, and action. It kept me glued to the pages well into the evening. The life of a cop was very well portrayed, and the story had a strong sense of realism. In addition it was an extraordinary love story. Never mind the two love interests are guys, it was tender, and sensual. If you love action romance, you must read this book!
