Dimity is an artist with a dream to open a gallery that both exhibits art and provides workshops. That dream is farther away than ever since her unemployed brother and his lazy and surly girlfriend has moved in with her.
Josh is in town to orchestrate the opening of another of his company’s holdings. He loves his job and Australia, but does not expect to fall in love, especially with his accident prone P.A..
Dimity is forced to work as a temp to save money to open her own gallery. The artist made a promise to her dying father to take care of her brother. A series of mysterious accidents make her temporary boss, the very attractive Josh, think that someone means her harm. He might keep her alive only to break her heart.
This is a well written romance story with a good suspense angle. I really liked Dimity and Josh and their developing relationship. Her friend Sandy was also a good character with a good heart, but terrible sense of timing. The brother and his girlfriend are very parasitic, making Josh very protective and Dimity defensive. I enjoyed Dimity’s mishaps at work very much and also the huge contrast to her art class at which she is very competent. If you really look, it is possible to figure out who wants to hurt Dimity, but the author throws in some really good red herrings to make you doubt yourself. I read this one from beginning to end in one sitting being unable to put it down until I knew Dimity’s fate.
