Alexis Rainier aka Summer Rain is a stripper with a keen dislike for cops. Her life six months ago was easy and carefree, but since Alex’s shooting life has gotten much more complicated.
Officer Adrien Spence is assigned to keep an eye on Summer. He is less than thrilled with what little information he has been given by the chief, but he does his duty. After meeting Alexis he finds her hot little temper only adds fuel to his fire.
Alexis, like most strippers, hates her job but the money is just too good to pass up. Taking care of Olivia and the 24-hour nursing care for Alex is draining her dry, so she strips for a living. Now she has to put up with a cop tailing her, and the fact that he is gorgeous only compounds the problem. Adrien knows that Alexis is hiding information on Alex’s shooting and he is determined to find out what it is. However the more time he spends with her, the deeper he falls. The deception runs both ways and Adrien must keep his wits, because losing Alexis is not something he is willing to face.
I really enjoyed the angst between Alexis and Adrien, and the sexual tension was explosive. Alexis is a hot tempered but very passionate woman. She comes off a little harsh, but her love for Olivia makes her character much more endearing. Adrien knows that he is treading on thin ice with Alexis, but the love and support that he gives her makes it worthwhile. His character must be both good cop and bad cop and does so very convincingly. But will Alexis be able to get past her complete mistrust of the police to accept Adrien as a permanent part of her life? I hope you read this and find out.
