Ashley Kimbrough is wealthy and successful. She has everything that any woman could ever want except for the one thing she needs most, a husband.

Ryan Finbar Mulcahy is a gorgeous hunk who enters Ashley’s life at the right time. As a self-made millionaire, he must find a wife before he turns forty, or forfeit his business.

Ashley cannot believe that her time is running out to find a husband or lose her inheritance. The first man ran off with the best man. The second died in Vegas during a bout of autoerotic sex with six groomsmen at a week long party and the third was wanted by the law. Her luck with men is running badly until Ryan enters her life who has not much time to find a wife before he loses his business. The good thing in her life is The Channel, her sexy clandestine network for women that gives viewers the opportunity to live out their sexiest fantasies. Ryan is a workaholic. He has a Restorations and Replications, R&R, fancy antique store handed down from his family. He has tried to restore furniture to look old and respectable. When he meets Ashley, the two may have met their match. With six sisters who would love to see him fail, well, maybe one would rather he did not; Ryan must hurry and find a wife before he loses the business. As the two work out a plan to make things happen in their life, it appears that certain members in Ryan’s family would rather see things flop instead of working out. Thank goodness there is one sister on their side, who even loves Ashley’s show. As the time passes before them, Ashley and Ryan must show they have what it takes to make it work.

Sudden Pleasures has all the elements for a most enjoyable read. Ashley and Ryan are refreshing individuals that keep the story flowing consistently. The dialogue between the two is crisp and the tender romance is wonderfully written. I admired the strength of Ashley and how she and Ryan work through the obstacles they are faced. Ms. Small pens a story that is interesting with well-rounded secondary characters determined to put some mischief in Ashley’s and Ryan’s relationship. I loved the interconnection of Ryan’s sisters and mother. I found this a tantalizing read, with some perks, that engulfs the reader.
