Matt Stromsoe had everything a man could want; a beautiful wife, a young son, and a job with the San Diego P. D. Until, that is, a former friend now turned enemy decided to kill him, but killed his wife and son instead. After recovering from his injuries, Matt hit rock bottom and lost his job. He is now working as a PI, hired to protect Frankie Hatfield, a weather reporter who is working on a secret weather project. But what starts as a simple job turns into much more for Matt.

Mike Tavarez and Matt were teenage friends, however things changed and Mike started a life of crime. He worked his way up from the bottom and is now the top man in La Eme, a prison gang with many connections and tons of power. Mike is presented with an opportunity to make Matt suffer once again, and jumps at the chance. This time he will stop at nothing to get his revenge.

Good and evil collide with former friends Matt and Mike who are now bitter enemies. Mike rules his empire from prison, and Matt is trying to beat Mike at his own game. Destroying everything Matt loves is the ultimate revenge for Mike. Can Matt protect Frankie before Mike gets to her? Can he keep her secret project from getting into the wrong hands? Will he be able to move forward and leave the past behind in order to forge a new future?

T. Jefferson Parker has done it again with a book that captivates the reader and takes them into a world of corruption and revenge. Such compelling characters bring this book alive telling a story that will blow you away. Storm Runners is a fast paced, entertaining book that every crime enthusiast must take the time to read. I have read Mr. Parker’s work before and will continue to read the thrillers he continues to pen.
