Leah McFarland has only one problem; she is dead. But with the help of her spirit guide she gets one shot to reunite with Aaron, the man she thinks is her soul mate. The only thing is she has to do something to prove to the powers that be that she deserves another chance. So she is sent back to 1920’s Earth to help free the soul of a young boy from a Vampire.
Cash is a werewolf with a mission; save the soul of his nephew. He had only one job before he became immortal, to protect his sister’s son. He has spent nearly 70 years looking for the Vampire that killed the boy. In Cash’s mind finding the vampire and saving is nephew’s soul will redeem himself.
Cash’s chance at redemption comes in the form of Leah. With her help he can find the vampire responsible for stealing his nephew’s soul and free it so it can move on. But what neither of them know is that along the way they will find redemption in each other. Can Cash forgive himself and move on? Can Leah realize that one day with a man does not necessarily mean you have found your soul mate?
This book is well worth the 4 cups I gave it. The characters are lively and fun. Leah is an independent woman who thinks she has found true love, but ends up realizing that what she thought was love was not it at all. Cash is a werewolf punishing himself for a tragedy that was beyond his control. These two characters struggle with their own dilemmas while the whole time what they really need is each other. The story was a lot of fun and the side characters really added to the plot. The story was a wonderful ride through loss, love, redemption, and growth.
