Lily Evans works as an assistant to Professor Briggs, and as a part time artist. Her passion is studying ancient Egypt. When a new Egyptian display comes to town she is drawn into a mystery that has spanned thousands of years. Also on the day Lily goes to see the new display she meets Kent, and finds him to be one of the most hansom men she has ever met.

Kent Ashton is the grandson of the famous Dame Ursula who discovered the tomb of Kahotep and Amisihathor. He finds Lily to be intriguing and beautiful. The more he sees Lily the more he wants to see of her. But Kent is tied up with family business and secrets that could cause him to loose the one thing he is most interested in.

As Lily and Kent’s mutual passion heats up so does the mystery surrounding them about Amisihathor. Who was this ancient Egyptian really, and who was she really in love with. Lily begins having nightmares, but are these nightmares or visions of the past? Will these dreams help her discover who Amisihathor really was in love with, or is it all just a figment of her own imagination. To compound Lily’s problems her ex-fiancé comes back to town to try and win her back.

Soul And Shadow, is a nice mix of two love stories, one in present day and one that took place thousands of years ago. I like the way these two stories intertwine and seem to relate to the other. Both sets of characters in this book are wonderfully written. It does get a bit confusing at times on what the true story is, but for the most part it is a nice story with a little mystery and a little romance.
