Liz’s only ambition has been to be a good mother and wife, but lately she has been having doubts about many things; her children, her marriage, and her friendships. She remembers how things used to be and wonders what has happened over the years. Especially with her best friend Sarabeth. They have been friends since they were kids, but now that they are grown into adulthood, has their friendship run its course?
Sarahbeth became closer to Liz when her mother committed suicide when she was a teen and went to live with Liz’s family. They were alike in so many ways, yet also very different. Sarahbeth chose a creative path in art and real estate design. But she now feels her life is just so wrong on many levels.
When Liz’s daughter enters a dangerous area in life, she finds the friendship with Sarabeth may not be all they thought it to be. The situation will change many thoughts and feelings, between not only these two women, but the other family members as well. Will the relationships that Liz has with her best friend and with her husband going to be able to withstand this tragic time in their lives?
What a wonderful book. Exceptional emotion-filled dialogue just begs you to keep reading. You not only get to view the friendship between these two women, but issues that affect other family members as well. Many of us would not know what to do in the situation that Ms. Packer presents unless we lived it. This book will make you take a deeper look at your own relationships and how weak or strong they may be. A recommended must read.
