Madison Rose Hensley discovered that the father of her child, and live in boyfriend was cheating on her. So she quickly ended the relationship paid him off and got full custody of their son Trevor. She has her own apartment and a job she loves. Maddi only has one hang up, she is done with men.
Colin Maxwell Banks also has been un-lucky in love. He found that one of his friends was sleeping with his girlfriend. He decided he needed a change and moved from Tennessee to Michigan. He works with his friend Luke, in a construction company they are partners in. Colin also does Elvis impersonations on the side for fun. One night while doing an Elvis gig he meets Madison and instantly is attracted to her.
Colin pursues Maddi with full steam. He sees what he wants and goes after it. Only this time what he wants does not know if she really wants him. With both of them dealing with insecurities from past relationship they end up either making love or fighting. But can they put their pasts behind them and start again or will their old relationships be to big a hang up for either of them to ignore?
Some things are meant to be is a cute story for the most part. It had a nice happily ever after ending. I really enjoyed the parts when Colin and Madison were getting along. But the story seemed to be kind of slow over all. I felt that story got really repetitive in the middle with all the insecurity issues between the main characters. The story just kind of got hung up on the self doubt issues of Maddi and Colin. I liked the over all story line but wished that the characters could have resolved their issues a bit sooner.
