Francesca Walcott is a gifted medium who is taken advantage of by her husband. When he flees town with their money and his mistress, Francesca takes a job as a companion to a girl, Amelie Chase, who is also "gifted." Disappearing with the child to the Scottish Highland town of Little Firkin, she never thought she would run into the man who had ruined her life.
Lord Greyson Sheffield wants to disprove all the supernatural practitioners in London after his family is taken advantage of. He considers it his personal duty to keep the people of London safe. He travels to Little Firkin to investigate the accusation of someone trying to kill the village witch. He was not expecting was to fall in love with one of the so-called fakes.
Francesca is able to curb her "gifts" in order to help her charge, but Amelie's gift of telekinesis has the town believing she is a witch. Her behavior when in public does nothing to dispute the belief. Lord Greyson and his nephew, Hayden, need to solve the mystery before one of these women get hurt. Will they all be able to resist falling in love?
So Enchanting lives up to its name. It is a wonderful combination of the magical and mysterious. Take a romantic story, mix in a dash of supernatural and make the setting a small Scottish village. This a great blend. With just the right touch of tension between Fransesca and Greyson, you get perfection. Franesca and Amelie are strong women with Amelie leaning towards the mischievous at times. Ms. Brockway writes a tale filled with sensuality.
