Madison “Maddie” Owens is a best selling author. She has returned to her parents' home to try to sort out her life after her husband’s betrayal and her divorce.
Will McGomery lost his wife to suicide, and there is speculation about an affair that it is said he had with his wife’s best friend who was murdered.
When Maddie returns home hoping to get her father to give her the deed to her great grandparent’s land and cabin, she is furious to discover that he sold the land years before to Will McGomery. Determined to get back what is hers, she drives up to Will’s house with every intention of offering him a huge sum of money to get it all back. Unfortunately, Will has no desire to sell the land. However, in spite of their butting heads over it, these two are highly attracted to each other. If it were not for the ghost of the murdered woman, Sarah, they might have a relationship. As hearts collide, Maddie is caught in a trap of the ghost’s and Will’s making. Will she be able to figure out just what is going on, or will she lose Will and someone else she loves?
Wow! This story has it all; romance, a ghost, a mystery to solve, and crooked cops. This particular reader could not have asked for more. Ms. Cordle sets a brutal pace as Maddie attempts to figure out why Sarah is haunting Will, and what secrets Will is not telling her. The emotional tension is stretched razor thin throughout the book, and kept me on the edge of my seat. The sex is graphic and emotional; two very important ingredients for a good book. This is one book you do not want to miss, and I highly recommend it!
