SHADES OF SILVER
Paranormal Erotic Romance
Rating: 4 cups
Audrey has maxed out all of her credit cards for a once in a lifetime trip to Europe. She is a very strong minded, not to say abrasive woman. As a matter of fact her last boyfriend had worse to say while he was sneaking out the door.
Echion is a Shade, imprisoned in a palace like place beneath the Earth’s surface. He and his brothers live by extracting the life force from mortals while giving them pleasure or pain. It has been a long time since a human has strayed into their realm.
The Shades have existed for millennia. Once almost worshipped, they are now forgotten and long to be set free to take over the world. The Shades are demon-like creatures who were condemned to their prison by gods that no one remembers. They kill with pleasure or pain. All five of the main Shades are handsome, arrogant and as cold as the marble statues that represent them.
Audrey should be their key to freedom, until Echion commits an unforgivable crime, he falls in love.
This story can be disturbing due to the violence described and mentions of rape and sodomy occurring to characters in the story. The characters are well described and easily pictured and their prison is so vividly drawn that you will feel like you are there. Echion and Audrey are not the most likeable characters I have ever read about. Both are arrogant and Audrey is a bit cold, but their love for each other softens them and makes them better and stronger. I really enjoyed the story and this new type of paranormal creature, though I would have liked to know more about Pallas.
