Nichole Simms manages a talent agency called Talentz of which she hopes to soon become a partner. She has been keeping a notebook of some of her erotic fantasies starring one of Talentz’s clients, Derek Mitchell. What starts out as practice for maybe actually becoming published at some point, turns into an X-rated version of her most erotic fantasies. Since Derek is a client and since she tends to be quite staid on the outside because of a bad experience she had when she was younger, it never even occurs to Nichole that Derek might be attracted to her too.
Derek owns The Decadent Chaise, a store that sells one-of-a-kind lounges. He is attracted to Nichole, but because he too harbors something not pleasant in his past, he does not act on the attraction.
When Derek comes in to ask Nichole about one of the company’s models, he catches her writing in her fantasy notebook. Flustered at being caught by the very man who stars in her notebook fantasies, she does her best to hide her reaction and the notebook by placing it beneath a stack of papers. When she goes to announce his arrival to her boss, Derek steals the notebook and reads it. Frantic to get it back before he discovers her secret life on paper, Nichole is astonished to discover Derek has had some fantasies of his own regarding her, and that he is willing to play hers out as well. They begin to become close in spite of each of them trying to keep it light, but then something causes Derek to think Nichole is behind some lawsuits being filed against him. Only time will tell if he will learn to trust in her or if they each will let their respective pasts drive them apart.
Sex Lounge is spicy, hot, erotic romance at its best! Who has not fantasized about someone they work with? I loved reading how Nichole wrote hers down and then got caught in the most delicious way. Derek is the typical wounded male who will not let anyone close to him because deep down he wonders if he is worthy of being loved. The way Nichole’s fantasies helped bring him out of himself and learn to trust and believe in how Nichole saw him, was especially wonderful to read. I savored every page!
