Tam and Jax are a male mated pair. Although their pairing is rare and often regarded as inferior, they are content with their lives. They know they do not need a third mate. However, Tam has been having visions both while asleep and awake. He feels an intense need to go to Settler's Mine.

Kiann has been hidden away from the world her entire life. Few people even know she exists. Her captor has kept her from finding her heart stone, without which she will never feel desire or love. She has finally managed to escape and has traveled to Settler's Mine determined to find the missing part of her heart.

Tam and Jax do not know what they are doing on Settler's Mine. When they run into Kiann, almost knocking her over, they feel not only desire for her but also an intense connection with her. Neither man understands why she affects them; after all, they cannot have another mate. When Tam notices that she does not have her heart stone, he realizes that he and Jax are meant to help her find it.

The Woman is the third novel in Ms Armstrong's Settler's Mine series. I am a big fan of this series. The author does a great job of blending romance and science fiction. I really liked the way that Tam and Jax were introduced to Kiann and that they took their time getting to know one another. The plot grabbed me from the start and kept me guessing until the end. Overall, this is a very satisfying read.
