September Rose St. John is a very successful model who loves her work. However, an increasingly threatening stalker is making it impossible for her to fulfill her assignments. The detective in charge of the case is so alarmed that he arranges for her to hide in Las Vegas until he finds the stalker.
Gavin Throckton is a computer expert with a contract to assist the New York D.A.’s office. His real boss is much higher up, but very top secret. He is on his way to Las Vegas for his first vacation in years, when he finds that his seat mate is none other than September Rose, the girl he had a crush on all through high school.
A stalker with murder on his mind is threatening a top model and tracks her to her hiding place in Vegas. Her high school best friend, now a computer expert in a top secret agency, is determined to keep her safe, even if he cannot keep her forever.
September Heat is a quick moving and very suspenseful story. Rose and Gavin have a great deal of chemistry from the beginning and seem to belong together. The Las Vegas background is very appropriate to the story. I only had one problem with the tale. Gavin’s alter ego, “the Cad”, seems unnecessary and is not explained very well. After all, a twenty-eight year old supermodel is hardly sheltered from that sort of person, and the author could have explained it better. Despite this, the story is a very good one and I recommend it.
