Officer Lara Boucher is not at all prepared for what she was about to see when she was called to a hotel with her partner for a complaint about disturbing the peace. Jack bursts into her world like a force of nature, one that she cannot deny.
Giacomo Di Venzia, or Jack to his friends, is completely stunned when his mind control power does not work on Lara. He is going to have to come up with another tactic to deal with her. Jack is also at a total loss as what to do with the attraction he feels for this mortal woman.
Jack is mired six feet deep in this problem of Lara. He knows for all concerned, he should leave her be at all costs, but he cannot seem to just forget he ever met her. To make this situation a lot worse, she manages to get herself involved in a murder case that has Vampire written all over it. How was Jack ever going to be able to do his job and get rid of the Vampire and keep Lara Safe?
Secret Life of a Vampire is a quirky fun book that had me laughing from the first few pages. This book is a really fun romp through a magical world wonderfully created by Kerrelyn Sparks. You will be instantly drawn to her fun and imaginatively written characters. The character of Jack is one of the most amusingly sexy vampires that I have ever had the pleasure to fall in love reading about. I truly enjoyed reading this book from beginning to end.
