RIPPING THE BODICE
Contemporary Erotic Romantic Comedy
Rating: 4 Cups
Cassandra Devon wishes people would call her Cassandra and not Cassie. She has high regard for romance books and would love for the handsome hero to jump from the pages and capture her heart.
Connor Callahan is Irish and used to playing sidekick to his friend and business partner, Raphael. His advertising world became challenging after meeting the delightful Cassandra.
Cassandra is visiting her friend, Valerie, in San Diego. Meeting Raphael and Connor is a treat she never saw coming. Connor may not be hero material, but one thing that bothers him is being considered second banana in the business he shares with Raphael. After meeting Cassandra, he realizes he does not wish to be in second place with her. Cassandra never imagined Connor’s touch could be so electric. He has a way of driving her mad. Where she finds Raphael gorgeous, Connor knows what buttons to push to ignite a woman, and he smells great. Cassandra tries to sort out between the heroes in her romance books, the gorgeous Raphael, and the down-to-earth, Connor, which it appears will be a challenge; one in which she hopes to make the right choice while having fun along the way.
Ripping the Bodice is a classy read that kept this reader’s interest from beginning to end. I love the theme of the story with Cassandra trying to find the right person to match her life. Cassandra and Connor share some sensational and interesting moments that I found entertaining. I love how they respond to each other. Inara Lavey seasons sexual passion, love, romance, and wonderful wit and charm into this delightful tale. She leaves a feel-good feeling with this reader. I also enjoyed how she fashioned Cassandra to be a great gal-friend, too.
