Mac Canfield is a thief who works for the government. He goes undercover to search for a virus. If it gets into the wrong hands, it could be very fatal. He never expected on running into Lily, the girl he left behind years before. It has been ten years and Lily is still hot.
Lily West, Private Investigator, is on a job. Her latest gig is breaking into the museum to test their security team. After casing the joint for a week, it appears the security system is not up to correct standards. Running into an ex was not part of the deal.
Mac must find a deadly virus but facing an old girlfriend, with a gun pointed in his direction, is not something he planned on. She could blow his cover, something he cannot afford. After someone starts shooting at them, Mac realizes they are in danger. For Lily seeing Mac again after ten years, only shows he is still the bad boy she remembers. He never follows the rules and she does. He cannot have her turn him in for something he is not guilty of and expose his mission. He used her in the past and now Lily believes it is payback time. No matter how bad she needs the information, he cannot let his guard down, as the passion they once felt begins to flame.
I found Riding Wild an engaging page-turner from the moment Lily and Mac encounter each other. Mac is steamy and any woman would find him a great hero, he is a strong protector. I liked Lily because no matter how hard she wants to show Mac she is powerful, that she can handle anything, she still has a feminine side that longs to be in his arms. The action is fast-paced. The secondary characters keeps the rush of adrenalin hopping in this awesome read. Ms. Burton manages to create a powerful tale with characters that grab you and say come along for the ride in this riveting story.
