REFUGE 2: SANCTUARY
Rating: 4 Cups
Julia, a witch, has fallen irrevocably in love with Gray Mallory, a werewolf. He leaves to tell his pack of his love for her and never returns. She moves to Ireland with the new man in her life, only to find Gray there. She is confused and still very hurt. Gray offers no excuses or explanations.
Gray knows that Julia is his true mate and that he will never love another woman. He has been expelled by his pack and accused of his uncle’s murder. He must stay away from Julia to keep her safe, but it is killing him to see her with her new love, Ian.
Mark, an evil and ambitious werewolf, has taken over the American pack, killing his father and ruining his cousin’s reputation to attain his position. To solidify his place, he must permanently remove Gray and, if possible, his mate Julia. Gray and Julia hide with a pack of outlaw werewolves, but Mark’s greed and ambition endanger them all.
This is an excellent werewolf tale. It is helpful, but not necessary, to read the previous story. Gray is a troubled man, having lost the love of his life and being forced to see her every day with another. Julia has never recovered from Gray’s desertion and, since he has given her no explanation, has moved on with her life. Ian is a very sympathetic character. The other characters are very well drawn and come to life within the pages of this book. The author’s descriptions of the settings will draw the reader in. The storyline is very fast moving and exciting, making it hard for the reader to put the book down until the end.
