Kell Jameson may not have a good record in the romance department but at least in the courtroom she comes out a winner. After being stopped for speeding, and parking near a fire hydrant, not to mention ignoring a cop, the Atlanta lawyer tosses the citations away.
Sheriff Luke Calder has his hands full when he is called out for another murder. It is nothing compared to the high-flying lawyer who does not believe she needs to obey certain traffic laws. Sparks blaze in his heart after she stands up to him.
Someone outright murdered Clay Griffin, and an old friend of Kell's, Mrs. Faraday, believes she may be considered a suspect. Kell has not seen Mrs. Faraday for sixteen years but will be glad to offer any assistance. She leaves Atlanta and heads to Hallden only to be stopped and harassed by a cop. Luke’s first impression of Kell is she needs an attitude adjustment. Then again she certainly whets his appetite. When he meets her again and invites her out to dinner, she accepts his invitation hoping to do some prying on the Griffin murder. In no time they are working together to find out who is behind the killing. Kell feels she is falling in love with Luke, who shares the same sentiments. When information begins to leak out, Luke wonders could the woman he loves possibly be a mole, especially since she holds a secret.
Reckless is an engaging read from the start. I was so hooked it was hard to put this book down. The little temper sparing between Kell and Luke is woven into the story in a way that makes the characters believable in all their actions. I love the plot of this story. The well-rounded secondary characters blend in well with all the right elements and add some suspense to make this a dynamite read. Selena Montgomery instills trust, loyalty, passion and a wonderful romance that this reader thought was quite satisfying.
