Jessie Curtis is an ex-cop turned Private Investigator on the trail of a serial killer. Even
though she no longer works as a police officer Jessie still has strong connections to her
old life and job. Born with ESP, she uses her unique gifts to help solve crimes.
Rafe Steele is the lead singer and guitar player in the band Pyrite. What neither Jessie
nor the rest of the world knows is that Rafe and his band are vampires.
When Jessie discovers through her gift and research that someone is killing young
people that attend Pyrite concerts she goes undercover to find the killer. Her number
one suspect is Rafe Steele who doesn’t take kindly to the unspoken accusation. Sparks
fly when the two realize they are highly attracted to each other, and it is not long before
things get hot and heavy. Despite their budding relationship they both know that time is
running out. Old enemies, and comrades come together and the situation becomes a
ticking time-bomb when Jessie’s ex-partner is kidnapped by two of Rafe’s longstanding
enemies. Racing to prevent any more deaths, Jessie finds herself making the one
decision she never would have imagined she would have to in order to save Dalton, her
This story is well written, and highly original. The emotions are well played out, and
following how the characters thought and felt is easy. The descriptions of vampires and
the life of a vampire were realistic and imaginative. I enjoyed this story very much, and
would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a fun unusual read.
