Mikki is a librarian and a writer of erotic romantic suspense. She is attractive, but not a stick figure, and though she has good friends, family, and two jobs she loves, she has yet to find a man who is a true match for her.

Diarmud Redwolf is a police lieutenant and works in the crime lab. He is also a wolf shapeshifter. He was once married but she was not his True Mate, even so her murder and that of his two sons hurt so badly he is reluctant to try again.

Mikki’s tour of the Crime Lab produces much more than research material for her new novel. She finally gets to meet “Delicious Diarmud”, the lieutenant in charge of her tour; she discovers that they are meant to be together. Unfortunately a psychopath from his past is determined to end their relationship in a permanent fashion. And she thought meeting his estranged family was difficult.

This story has everything I like in a tale, a sexy hero who is a shapeshifter, a nontraditionally beautiful woman who is strong, witty, and brave, edge of your seat suspense, and scorchingly hot love scenes. Diarmud and Mikki complement each other beautifully and are three dimensional characters with emotional baggage. Their love scenes are erotic, but full of love and tenderness also. All of the characters are real and interesting, and the suspense scenes are real nail biters. I look forward to more of this author’s work; she introduced us to a lot of pretty hot wolves.
