Angel has been alone since the death of her fiancé in a plane crash years before. She owns and runs her own flight school, but has been keeping a secret from her friends and family. The time has come to let them know of her condition.
Damon Knight’s life revolves around his business and the important meetings that he must attend in Ottawa. His car breaks down in the middle of nowhere and a memorable night in a local pub leads him to Angel.
A flight instructor with a potentially fatal secret meets the man who will change her life forever. That man has had reasons never to trust any woman and Angel’s secret will certainly affect their relationship if she finds the courage to tell him.
I really enjoyed this story. The background of a small air service and flight school made the plot more interesting without overpowering the story. I really enjoyed reading about the small aircraft and flying. Angel and Damon are great characters; I loved the juxtaposition of their names. Angel is afraid to let anyone in on her secret and Damon is afraid of love in general. The scene in the pub was very entertaining and the other characters are well written, even if they only appear briefly. The later scenes are handled very well and are not written in an overly emotional manner; many other authors would turn this into a saccharine melodrama. Angel and Damon overcome many obstacles and you will root for them all the way.
