Aeron, daughter of Mervyn, Prince of the Three Mountains, must marry to secure the future of her people. The obvious choice is Alun ap Dylan, son of her fathers trusted advisor. But Aeron sets eyes and heart on Alun's challenger, Rhys ap Idris. Unfortunately, Aeron stumbles upon her father's murder and mistakenly identifies Rhys father as the killer. A heartbroken Aeron must live with the knowledge that she sent Rhys, his father and brother to the gallows, and Rhys' people to a certain death, as Alun claims control of The Three Mountains and Aeron's future.
Rhys ap Idris falls in love with the beautiful and beguiling Princess Aeron almost immediately. But that did not stop her from lying and colluding to have him and his entire family put to the sword. Now, trying to rebuild his life with the sole intent of avenging his people, he stumbles upon a slave market and sees a naked Aeron on the auction block. Revenge compels him to buy her, to make her suffer as he has, even as his body betrays him and longs for her touch.
A grateful Aeron is determined to overcome Rhys' hatred by overwhelming him with love. As they grow closer, horrific images of his family's death war with Aeron's sweet words inside Rhys' head. While the internal battles rage, the battle for dominance of The Three Mountains is re-ignited. Their love, and their lives, may possibly be saved by only The Almighty Himself.
Prince of the Three Mountains is a sweeping tale of passion, intrigue, family, and war all set in medieval Wales. Its characters are each endearing or despicable, believably multi-faceted, and quite engaging. The tale has a touchable quality, as if you could walk onto any given page and be surrounded by the action. I was impressed with the love scenes between Aeron and Rhys; very raw, very sexy and deliciously sensual without being raunchy. This book is a keeper, one you would mention to a friend, and Ms. Tremayne has a new fan.
