MARY LOU GEORGE
Paranormal, romantic suspense, mainstream romance
Rating: 5 Cups
Jade Adams has returned to her roots in the special town of New Crescent where she comes face to face with her childhood crush, Sam. Jade still wants him, but there is something that will stop at nothing to keep them apart.
Sam Daniels sees Jade and has to remind himself that their age difference was the reason for his gentle rejection all those years ago. Now, Jade is back and all grown up. This time he will not let her go no matter the price.
Jade takes a job with Sam, the town vet, which suits her talents and brings her joy. Jade has the power of communicating with animals and the animals of New Crescent are telling her something bad is lurking. The town is in danger and together, Sam and Jade must figure out the nature of the beast and eliminate it before it breeds.
Mary Lou George is an excellent who-done-it author. Prey is the fourth book in the New Crescent series, and I look forward to reading more. Ms George keeps the identity of the beast unknown until the very end and shocks the reader with the revelation. Jade is such a wonderful woman with a unique talent and radiant personality. The bewitching story is full of supernatural beings, talents unexplained, and a town that has always been a little bit special.
