Boston General Hospital communications director, Ike Rombout demands to be in control of three things; her job, her life and most of all, her men. Ike is great with computers and loves the outdoors and the thrill of speed and danger. Ike is out on a skiing trip with her lover, Zed, when a sniper releases a gunshot into the air, killing him. When the ski patrol arrives, Ike has the feeling the bullet was meant for her. Now, months later, those who murdered Zed are going to pay and she means to keep her promise. Her menacing attitude usually has a way of telling men to back off, but one guy does not scare that easily.
Former FBI agent William Caine is not one to shy away from any woman. As a partner of Vasek & Caine investigators, and he is about find himself right in the crossfire. Of late, the business is not been doing well.
When Ike comes up against William, she finds him serious and not much in the sense-of-humor department. In no time they are trying to stay one step ahead of the bad guys. William is determined to find the reason for the business failing. Everything leads to The Nine, a group of very powerful worldwide scientists bent on bribery and extortion, and somehow it all connects to Ike. William is set to make sure that Ike is safe no matter how hard she protests him to leave her alone, and he intends to find out just who she really is inside and out. The only problem, after the assignment is over, he wonders if he will ever be able to just walk away from Ike and never look back. Ike wonders if her love can allow William to be her partner for life.
Prescription: Makeover is a story that thrills, excites and captivates. The raw sexual need is transparent each time Ike and William are cornered. They exhibit an adrenaline rush either with their sexual chemistry or chasing the bad guys. A pure orgasmic read of high rising rushes that spins great credibility. I got a general feel for Ike’s grief when she lost Zed, her frustrations with William and the sensations she felt for him. Jessica Andersen pens a magnificent story with gripping on the edge-of-the-seat entertainment that engages the reader. The secondary members play a great role while the villains really keep the story flowing as William and Ike find themselves within crossroads that keep them one step ahead of the bad guy in an action-pack read.
