Tiffany lives with her nine-year-old daughter, Elli and widowed mother. After an afternoon of fishing, Tiffany is in an accident on the way home, but a kind gentleman comes to her aid.
Marcus just happens to see Tiffany hit by the automobile and comes to her rescue. He starts a friendship with her that blossoms into love.
Tiffany works as a nightclub dancer on the weekends, while going to college for her master’s in business and child development. After her father grew ill with lung cancer and the medical bills piled up, Tiffany did her best to support her mother and Elli. She refuses to allow anyone to take the home her father built. That did not help matters living in a small town prone to gossip. After the man stops to help Tiffany and introduces himself as Marcus, he offers to take her and Elli home, care for Tiffany’s cuts, and even prepare their dinner. Tiffany lives a private life but the more time she spends with Marcus, he wishes to learn about her desires and her dreams. For some reason, she feels at ease with Marcus, so openly speaks to him, but small town gossip erupts causing discord with Tiffany.
Preconceived Notions tells the story of the strength of a woman for her child and mother. The reader will discover much love and happiness, as Tiffany seeks to protect Elli. With real characters, each with their own distinct voice, this tale shows how one woman refuses to allow gossip to interrupt her life until it touches her family. Stacey Lynn Schlegl adds some believability to a town that learns sometimes just because someone might perceive things one way does not mean they are true. And learning from someone’s mistake is often hard but lends a worthwhile learning experience.
