Tamara Britton keeps to herself most of the time. She has a few friends but does not seek out men for relationships. She loves her quiet life, but she loves most being a champion for other kids. Her boss often criticizes her methods. Dreams of her past keep coming back and she not only has to figure out how to deal with the present, but also how to put the past to rest. She has no idea how to do either one, but knows she must find a way.

Sienna Larson has never felt at home with any of her foster parents. Being in the foster care system has left her looking for attention any way she can get it. She often does not choose the best method for getting the attention she needs. Boundaries have never been established for her. She has often been hurt and dares not place her trust in anyone. So, when placed with Tamara, she doubts anything good will happen to her there either.

Tamara's job with the Care for Kids Agency in Illinois certainly keeps her busy. She accepted this job because of her childhood experiences. The only way she made it through her young childhood was because of her faith in God. She thought she had put her past behind her until Sienna is placed in her care. Now, she needs to find help because she feels overwhelmed by it all. Sienna and Tamara start attending church together, but that is only a start. Tamara has new challenges to face and rediscovering her faith helps her find the strength to keep going.

This story paints a picture of the way faith can help you through anything. Keeping the faith is never shown as something easy to do. Instead, one must keep persevering to reach the desired goal. It takes time to adjust to changes in life and Tamara and Sienna have much to learn. Ms. Edwards is a talented writer who gives you everything needed to present the story but never gets too graphic for comfort. It takes Tamara a while to realize she cannot do it all on her own. Seeking help from her friends and fellow Brothers and Sisters in Christ benefit her in the end. The congregation that Tamara and Sienna ended up with was a wonderful one and I learned so much from them. I really appreciate the honesty Ms. Edwards uses in telling the story. This is one book that gives more answers than questions and I found that very refreshing!
